Lightning sparked an explosion and fire that burned one storage tank and spread to three others at a Port Arthur business, but the fire department worked quickly to put out the flames and ensure there were no injuries.
Chief Robert Havens tells KFDM lightning hit the storage tank this afternoon at the Amlon Golden Triangle Eco Werks facility at Main and Proctor.
The fire spread and at least four tanks were burning, but Chief Havens says they contained the fire early on and used water and foam to put it out.
Chief Havens tells KFDM/Fox 4 the business takes wastewater from industrial clients and removes chemicals, allowing the wastewater to safely move through the city’s system.
