The Cincinnati Bengals have a fairly crowded room at the running back position, but they do have a rookie trying to break through and earn some playing time early.
Cincinnati has been impressed early on with the pass-catching of sixth-round running back Tahj Brooks out of Texas Tech. That started back in the spring during the offseason program and has continued into training camp.

That was one of the key positives from Brooks entering the draft. Brooks caught at least 25 passes in each of his last three seasons with the Red Raiders and had at least 150 receiving yards in two of those three years. Brooks also had back-to-back 1,500-yard rushing seasons in 2023 and 2024 and totaled 27 touchdowns in those two seasons, including 17 in 2024.
The running back room already had Chase Brown and Zack Moss and the Bengals brought back Samaje Perine this offseason. But given how pass-happy the Bengals tend to be, there could be room at the table for the rookie.
