MARSHALL COUNTY, Ala. (WAFF) – A teenager is being charged as an adult in Marshall County after a robbery.
Authorities said during the week of July 21, Marshall County Sheriff’s Office investigators received a report of an individual claiming to have been robbed at gunpoint a few days earlier.
Investigators discovered that this incident occurred near the Town of Grant. As investigators worked on the case, they developed probable cause and secured an arrest warrant for a suspect. Investigators were also able to secure a search warrant for the home of the suspect.
Authorities said on the morning of July 30, members of the Marshall County Joint SWAT team, the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office, the Marshall County Drug Task Force, and the Grant Police Department executed a search warrant at a home on Lashea Road in Grant, AL.

Authorities identified 17-year-old Alex Rice as their suspect, and he was located inside the home and taken into custody without incident.
Authorities said investigators seized an undisclosed amount of money, drug paraphernalia, and a small amount of marijuana inside the home.
Rice is currently being held and charged as an adult in the Marshall County Jail on the charge of first-degree robbery with no bond pending an Aniah’s Law hearing.
