Adult Male Fatally Shot in Northport Wednesday Night

Police in Northport and investigators from the multi-agency Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit are on the scene of a fatal shooting Wednesday night.

Captain Marty Sellers, the co-commander of the VCU, alerted local media to the shooting at 9:45 p.m. Wednesday.

Sellers said Northport Police officers and the VCU are in the 11400 Block of Fairwood Avenue, where a man has been fatally shot.

The VCU said the death is being considered a homicide, which would mark the 11th the unit has investigated in Tuscaloosa County so far in 2025.
