Two people have been charged this week in connection to a fatal shooting in Kitchener last November at the tiny home community A Better Tent City in Kitchener.
A 39-year-old male was found with gunshot wounds on the afternoon of Nov. 30 around 4 p.m. at a location on Ardelt Avenue, in the area of Ottawa Street N. and Homer Watson Boulevard. He was taken to hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
On Tuesday, Waterloo regional police arrested and charged a 19-year-old from Waterloo with first-degree murder.
On Wednesday, a 22-year-old from Ottawa was arrested and charged with accessory after the fact to murder.
Both the accused remain in custody.
At the time, police believed it was a targeted shooting and released a security camera photo of the suspect they believed was involved.
The Waterloo Regional Police Service worked with a number of other police services across the province, including Ottawa Police and the Provincial Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement (ROPE) unit as part of the investigation.
