3 arrested in connection with drug investigation at Cumberland County Detention Center

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (WTVD) — Three people were arrested and charged on Thursday in connection with a drug investigation at the Cumberland County Detention Center.

According to the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office, following a coordinated drug investigation, deputies performed a “successful operation” that led to the arrests.

“Today was about safety, not only the detention officers, but the detainees as well. When drugs and contraband are introduced into the detention center, it puts everyone’s safety in jeopardy. We will continue to focus on the safety and welfare of our detention officers, deputies, and detainees.” Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office Major J.T. Morgan said.

Deputies said detainee 37-year-old Glenn Richard Tedder II of Fayetteville was charged with two counts of felony conspiracy. He is being held without bond. His first court appearance is scheduled for Friday.

Megan Michelle Council, 40, of Fayetteville, was charged with felony conspiracy. She was processed into the Cumberland County Detention Center on $5,000 secure bond. Her first appearance is on Friday.

Tabitha Renea Alexander, 36, of Fayetteville, was charged with felony conspiracy. She was processed into the Cumberland County Detention Center, where she is being held without bond. Her first appearance is scheduled for Friday.

According to warrants, both women allegedly conspired with Tedder to possess a controlled substance within a jail by agreeing to deliver controlled substances into the detention center.
