Shimla: A man was allegedly shot dead by two unidentified assailants at a saloon in Bansal Market of Una Sunday afternoon. The victim has been identified as Rakesh Kumar alias Gaggi, a resident of Arniyala.Rakesh was having a haircut when two unidentified men on a motorcycle arrived at the saloon, located on the highway, and shot him. The assailants fled after shooting the victim, said the police.Rakesh was rushed to the Una Govt Hospital by his friends, but doctors declared him brought dead. A police officer said four rounds were fired, one of which hit the victim in the head.A police source said the murder could be a supari killing and a fallout of an ongoing rivalry among different groups over the liquor business in the district.A large crowd gathered outside the saloon immediately after the shooting, and many people were seen moving all over the crime scene as the police took time to reach the spot.Some locals, who were present at the spot, raised concerns that valuable crime scene evidence might have been destroyed.Later, a police team led by Una superintendent of police Amit Yadav reached the spot and spoke to the eyewitnesses.
