3 dead, including 1-year-old child, in Kentucky crash

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) – Three people are dead after a two-car crash in Breckinridge County Saturday.

Kentucky State Police says the collision happened around 5:10 p.m. Central time in the 13000 Block of KY 261.

They say their initial investigation showed 48-year-old Joseph Maynard was driving southbound when, for an unknown reason, he crossed the centerline and hit another car head-on.

Maynard died before he was taken to the hospital.

The driver of the other vehicle, 22-year-old Hunter Lyons, and a 1-year-old passenger also died at the scene of the crash.

Officials say another passenger was flown to the University of Louisville Hospital and are expected to survive.

KY261 was closed for several hours after the crash.

Fordsville Fire Department responded to the scene and says the road was reopened around 12:00 a.m. this morning.

KSP says the crash is still under investigation.
