A Kansas City resident has been federally indicted on six felony charges related to a series of bank and credit union robberies that occurred over three months in 2024.

On July 16, 2025, Staci-Christopher Zjacku Cannon, 26, was formally charged in the U.S. District Court in Kansas City, Missouri, with four counts of bank robbery and two counts of attempted bank robbery. The indictment, previously sealed, has now been made public.

According to federal prosecutors, Cannon is accused of conducting or attempting to conduct robberies at six financial institutions in the Kansas City area between February 6 and May 15, 2024. Over the course of these alleged incidents, authorities say Cannon obtained more than $30,000.

Each count of bank robbery or attempted bank robbery carries a potential maximum penalty of 20 years in federal prison. These penalties, as established by federal law, do not allow for parole. However, the actual sentence imposed will be determined by a federal judge based on advisory sentencing guidelines and relevant statutory considerations.
