Police in Kelantan have arrested a knife-wielding robber who preyed on three women providing food delivery services in remote villages in Besut.
District police chief Azamuddin Ahmad said the 32-year-old suspect robbed two of the women but the third resisted and suffered injuries on both hands.
The robberies took place between June 24 and July 20. “He would identify female vendors who provided delivery service and would give addresses at unoccupied houses in remote areas in Kampung Gong Medang and Kampung Tembila,” Azamuddin told reporters.
When the victim arrived, he brandished a knife and robbed two of the women of their jewellery, involving an estimated loss of RM30,000, and RM200 in cash.
Azamuddin said police seized two melted gold bars weighing 82gm, believed to belong to the women, and a car and two mobile phones belonging to the suspect.
