TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) – A man has been arrested in connection with the stabbing death of a Tucson mother last year, according to the victim’s family.
Casandrah Poole’s family said the man was arrested on a charge of second-degree murder. 13 News has reached out to the Tucson Police Department for confirmation.
The body of the 32-year-old Poole was found in a drainage tunnel near Stella and Wilmot on March 13, 2024.

Her family told 13 News she was walking home from her caretaking job when she was attacked.
“She fought for her life, I do know that. I saw her wound marks on her hand. I will say that I lifted her left hand in the casket, and she was protecting herself from the knife that was used,” Casandrah’s mother, Victoria, told 13 News in April 2025.
Casandrah was on track to go to school for something related to dentistry, and loved her two children, who are now six and twelve.
“My grandchildren now have to grow up without a mother, without knowing the love of the biological mother every minute of the day,” says Victoria.
