ALEXANDRIA, La. (KALB) – A city employee was killed in a single-vehicle crash, according to the Alexandria Police Department.
APD said Levi Phillips, 58, was driving in the 400 block of Chester Street on July 24 around 3:30 p.m., on duty as an employee of the City of Alexandria Street Department, when the crash happened.
Phillips was taken to a local hospital, where he died from his injuries.
“This is a tragic loss that deeply impacts the City of Alexandria and all who knew and worked with Mr. Phillips,” APD said in a press release. “The Alexandria Police Department extends its condolences to his family, friends, and coworkers during this difficult time.”
The investigation into the crash is still ongoing.
