CINCINNATI (WXIX) – A pedestrian is fighting for his life after being struck by a vehicle and critically hurt in a hit-and-run crash early Friday, according to Cincinnati police.

Officers responded to the 800 block of West Sixth Street in Queengate, adjacent to downtown Cincinnati, shortly after midnight.

The victim, 42, is undergoing treatment at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center for a “life-threatening head injury,” Captain Stephen Bower tells FOX19 NOW.

A description of the driver and vehicle that police say left the scene was unavailable early Friday.

The incident remains under investigation.
