STERLING HEIGHTS, Mich. – A bank robbery suspect who fled on a bicycle has been arrested by Sterling Heights police.
The incident occurred on Wednesday (July 23) at 1:30 p.m.
Police said they worked swiftly, catching the suspect in just 45 minutes after the robbery.
Officials said there were no injuries reported as they gathered evidence to capture the suspect who fled the scene.
Police said the suspect passed a letter to the teller, but no weapon was implied.
The officers involved stated that they canvassed the area and identified a suspect who fled on a bicycle.
The information was relayed to surrounding jurisdictions, and the Shelby Township Police Department responded promptly.
Shelby Township police said they were also assisted by the F.B.I. Violent Crime Task Force!
Police said they utilized the information provided by their officers on scene and were able to arrest the suspect within their jurisdiction.
