16-year-old boy identified as suspect in Chapel Hill armed robbery, carjacking :: WRAL.com


Police said they have identified a 16-year-old boy as a suspect in a carjacking and armed robbery from this past weekend.

According to the Chapel Hill Police Department, officers identified 16-year-old Shaun Dunn of Durham as the suspect and charged him with the following.

  • Robbery with a dangerous weapon
  • Two counts of stolen goods and property

“We believe Dunn is armed and dangerous,” said Celisa Lehew, Chapel Hill Police Chief.

Police said they were looking into a carjacking and an armed robbery that happened between 10:30 p.m. Thursday and 3 a.m. on Saturday in Chapel Hill. Police believed that both crimes were related.

Police advised residents to avoid approaching Dunn if they see him and call 911 immediately.
