Man convicted in 2021 murder, armed robbery in Kalamazoo | WKZO | Everything Kalamazoo


KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – 23-year-old Isaiah Willhite has been convicted by a Kalamazoo jury of home invasion and murder in the June 2021 shooting death of Gerryon Kye.

Willhite was found guilty of felony murder, first-degree home invasion, Armed robbery, and three counts of felony firearm.

He will be sentenced August 15.

A second suspect in the crime remains at large according to Kalamazoo Public Safety.

Officers say Willhite and another masked person forced their way into Kye’s home and shot him during an Armed robbery on June 26, 2021 in the 1300 block of North Rose Street.
