A man was shot to death Sunday in Compton.
The shooting was reported at about 5:20 p.m. Sunday in the 12600 block of South Compton Avenue, near El Segundo Boulevard, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
The man was rushed by ambulance to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead, sheriff’s officials said. His identity was not immediately disclosed.
Homicide detectives were summoned to the scene to search for witnesses and leads. Information about suspects and circumstances was not immediately released.
