Road closures and detours in Spokane begin July 21.

SPOKANE, Wash. – Traffic in Spokane will be impacted by improvement projects starting Monday, July 21.

Drivers are urged to plan ahead, as south Freya St. and south Lincoln St. will see significant work, the city said in a release.

On south Freya St., over 3,000 feet of water main will be replaced between 13th Ave. and 21st Ave. This project includes street repairs and ADA-compliant curb ramps.

The street will be closed, with detours via Hartson Ave., south Ray St., and east 29th Ave. Local access will remain for residents. Completion is expected by late October.

On south Lincoln St., crews will be removing plants and replacing them with new plants between 19th Ave. and 29th Ave. starting July 21 and continuing throughout the summer.

Flaggers will manage traffic when needed, with expected delays. Alternate routes include High Drive and Bernard St.

Pedestrian detours will be in place when sidewalks are obstructed.
