19-Year-Old Charged In Fatal Asbury Park Shooting: Prosecutor

ASBURY PARK, NJ — A 19-year-old man has been apprehended and charged in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred in early April, Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond Santiago said.

Jordan I. Glisson, of Asbury Park, was charged with one count of first-degree murder, one count of second-degree unlawful possession of a weapon (handgun), and one count of second-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, Santiago said.

Glisson was arrested and charged in connection with the fatal incident that occurred on Tuesday, April 8.

At 4:25 p.m., prosecutors said members of the Asbury Park Police Department responded to the 1100 block of Atlantic Avenue for a report of shots fired. Once they arrived, officers discovered an adult man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

The victim, later identified as Ah’kim Esdaile, 19, of Asbury Park, was rushed to a local hospital, where he would later succumb to his injuries.

An investigation involving members of the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Bureau and the Asbury Park Police Department led to Glisson being identified as the suspect.

On Monday, July 14, prosecutors said Glisson was located and arrested by members of the U.S. Marshals Service New York/New Jersey Regional Task Force and the Asbury Park Police Department.

Glisson was then brought to the Monmouth County Correctional Institution, where he is being held pending his first appearance in Monmouth County Superior Court.

The case has been assigned to Monmouth County Assistant Prosecutor Michael Luciano of the Major Crimes Bureau. Information on Glisson’s legal representation was not immediately available.
