The event took place close to where Ave was supposed to perform.


Who is Troy Ave?

Roland Collins, known as Troy Ave in the hip-hop world, grew up in Crown Heights, Brooklyn. Collins took his stage name from Troy Avenue, a street near where he lived as a kid.

Over the years, Troy Ave has made a name for himself by mixing tales of street life with a hustler’s drive. He became known for making it on his own. Besides his music, he’s known for speaking his mind and having trouble with the law, keeping his name relevant in the rap world.

The aforementioned video shows Brooklyn rapper Troy Ave pulling out a gun and shooting at a person thought to be a thief in San Diego, California. From what the reports say, this took place when someone tried to rob Troy Ave and a show promoter with him.

The time when this happened isn’t known yet. Several users on social media noted that Troy Ave, who has dealt with legal issues over weapons before, might be in trouble with the law again if the video’s real.

So far, neither Troy Ave nor his team has made any official statement on the matter.
