American Idol executive Robin Kaye and her husband found murdered inside their LA home after apparent break-in

A suspect has been arrested after American Idol executive Robin Kaye and her husband were found shot to death following an apparent break-in at their Los Angeles home.

The Los Angeles Police Department arrested 22-year-old Raymond Boodarian on Tuesday in connection with the double homicide.

The arrest comes after police found Kaye and Thomas Deluca, both 70, dead on Monday in their Encino home. Officers arrived at the house after receiving a call around 2.30 p.m. Monday from someone concerned they hadn’t heard from the couple in several days, officials said. The couple was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Days earlier, on Thursday July 10, police received a call about a possible burglary at the residence. “While there were no signs of forced entry or trouble at the location during that investigation, it is now believed that the suspect had gained entry into the residence through an unlocked door,” police said. The couple returned home to find the suspect, leading to a confrontation that left the couple dead, police said. Boodarian is then accused of fleeing the home on foot.

The victims succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds. The motive for the shooting is not immediately clear. Police are currently trying to determine whether Boodarian had any connection to Deluca and Kaye.

The investigation is ongoing.

Officers found Kaye and Deluca in separate rooms; Deluca was found in a bathroom while Kaye was found in the pantry, NBC4 reported.

Aerial footage captured shattered glass from a sliding door at the home, ABC7 reported.

A neighbor told the outlet that one of her renters called police days earlier after seeing someone climbing the fence to the property.

“We didn’t see or hear anything. My renter called 911 on Thursday because she saw somebody hopping the fence,” Amee Faggen told ABC7. “And I have no idea if that was related or not. They came and left, the helicopters and police came.”

A spokesperson for the TV series told the outlet: “We are devastated to hear of Robin and her dear husband, Tom’s, passing.”

Kaye worked as a music supervisor on the singing competition show for 288 episodes spanning from 2002 to 2023, according to her IMDB page. She’s also credited as working as a music supervisor for the NAACP Image Awards, Lip Sync Battle, Miss USA, Miss Universe, The Dance Scene, Your Chance To Dance, and dozens of other shows.

She launched the company SynchroniCity in 2000, which represented Andrea Bocelli, Kenny Loggins, Lang Lang, Donnie Osmond and Steven Bishop, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
