FLUSHING, Mich. (WNEM) – A 48-year-old man was arrested and charged in the murder of a senior citizen in Flushing.
Flushing Police Chief Steve Colosky said officers responded to a home on Autumn Dr. on Friday, July 11 to conduct a welfare check. A family member of the homeowner made the request.
Officers found a 71-year-old woman dead at the scene. They did not specify her injuries in a press release Tuesday, July 15.
As a result of the investigation, Randall David Cocking, 48, was arrested and placed in the Genesee County Jail.
Police said first degree murder and armed robbery charges were authorized by the Genesee County Prosecutor’s Office on Tuesday, July 15. Court records show he was arraigned Tuesday.
