8-year-old in hospital after shooting near PRP

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) – A child is in the hospital after a shooting near Pleasure Ridge Park on Monday, July 14.

Louisville police said the shooting happened around 9:30 p.m. in the 6500 block of Maravian Drive, near Crockett Drive. A boy police believe is 8 years old was shot in the shoulder. He was taken to Norton Children’s Hospital, where he is being treated for what are believed to be non-life-threatening injuries.

LMPD’s Non-Fatal Shooting Unit is investigating. There are currently no suspects. Anyone with information is asked to call the anonymous tip line at 502-574-LMPD or use the online crime tip portal.
