CLOQUET — A second juvenile suspect is in custody following an armed robbery of a gas station in Cloquet early Saturday morning.
A 15-year-old boy was taken into custody after a gun was recovered Monday afternoon, the Cloquet Police Department announced Monday night. The boy is being held at the Arrowhead Juvenile Correction Center.
Two masked males allegedly brandished a gun and took cash from a register at the Kwik Trip at 900 Washington Ave. A police K-9 and a perimeter search did not locate the suspects, prompting police to seek the public’s help Saturday in identifying and locating the suspects.
A 16-year-old boy was arrested Saturday evening in Wrenshall.
Evidence connected to the robbery was recovered at both arrest scenes, according to police. A gun believed to have been used in the robbery was found Monday, along with a second handgun that police believe was stolen from a vehicle.
The investigation remains ongoing, according to the police department news release.

Our newsroom occasionally reports stories under a byline of “staff.” Often, the “staff” byline is used when rewriting basic news briefs that originate from official sources, such as a city press release about a road closure, and which require little or no reporting. At times, this byline is used when a news story includes numerous authors or when the story is formed by aggregating previously reported news from various sources. If outside sources are used, it is noted within the story.
