Motorhome fire in Lewiston leaves one injured, investigation underway


LEWISTON, Maine — On July 12, at approximately 5:20 p.m., the Lewiston Fire Department responded to a motorhome fire at 1735 Powers Avenue. Upon arrival, crews found the motorhome heavily engulfed in flames.

One occupant of the motorhome sustained significant burn injuries and was immediately transported to the hospital by Lewiston Fire Department paramedics. The extent of the injuries is currently unknown.

Thanks to a swift and coordinated response, the fire was contained to the motorhome. Minor damage occurred to nearby vehicles and to the residence adjacent to the motorhome, but the structure was otherwise preserved.

The Lewiston Fire Department responded with three fire engines, two ambulances, one chief officer, and two fire investigators. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
