Second suspect in January fatal shooting arrested in Pitt County after months on the run

A second suspect in a fatal shooting that occurred in January was arrested early Sunday morning in Pitt County after months on the run, according to the Washington Police Department.

The Pitt County Sheriff’s Office arrested Quamir Razor at approximately 12:20 a.m. on July 13, 2025.

The Washington Police Department, with assistance from multiple law enforcement agencies across several states, had been pursuing Razor since the January 7 shooting incident. On that day, officers responded to a motor vehicle crash at Bonner Street and E. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, where they found 20-year-old Sha’Mari Parker suffering from a gunshot wound. Parker was pronounced dead at the scene.

Detectives quickly identified Razor and Zaydrian Starkie as suspects. 17-year-old Starkie was arrested the day after the incident, but Razor managed to evade capture for several months. Recent credible information suggested Razor had returned to the Beaufort County and Pitt County areas, prompting a coordinated effort to locate him.

The North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation Criminal Apprehension Team and the Pitt County Sheriff’s Office were mobilized after receiving credible information about Razor’s whereabouts.

Razor is currently being held without bond and faces charges of murder and armed robbery. He is set to appear at the Beaufort County Courthouse on Tuesday, July 15.

The Washington Police Department expressed gratitude for the collaboration of multiple agencies, including the Pitt County Sheriff’s Office, Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office, Greenville Police Department Violent Criminal Apprehension Team, North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation Criminal Apprehension Team, FBI, Raleigh Police Department, Durham Police Department, Philadelphia Police Department (PA), Mount Vernon Police Department (NY), and the Ossining Police Department (NY).
