Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances that led to two officers fatally shooting a man at a busy shopping centre in Western Sydney on Saturday.
The officers were responding to a triple-0 report claiming two groups were brawling at Westfield Mount Druitt at 3:15pm.
Two uniformed officers were then allegedly confronted by a man armed with a machete.
NSW Police said the man allegedly threatened the two officers, and they then fired several shots.
The officers immediately performed first aid, NSW Police said, handing over treatment to paramedics once they arrived.
