Two men have been arrested after an alleged home robbery in Dawson County.
Dawson County Sheriff’s Office officials said deputies were called to the home on Thursday, July 3 by the victim, who said they had been burglarized.
“The suspects took the victim’s wheelchair out of reach and stole his wallet, IDs, and other personal items,” the statement from the sheriff’s office said.
One of the suspects, Joseph Powlette of Port Richley, Florida, was arrested that same day by deputies who found him while responding to a suspicious person call. It took a week for deputies to ultimately find and arrest the second suspect, Jonathan Miranda-Rosas of Dawsonville.
Powlette is facing charges of robbery, theft by taking, false imprisonment, exploitation of a disabled or elderly person and identity fraud, among others. He allegedly threatened deputies during the investigaiton, leading to terroristic threats charges.
Miranda-Rosas faces charges of theft by receiving and identity fraud.
“(Miranda-Rosas) is also named as a person of interest in other investigations, which could lead to additional warrants,” the sheriff’s office said.
