Armed robbery investigation at a Kwik Trip in the city of Cloquet


Cloquet Police are investigating an Armed robbery at a Kwik Trip Store. On Saturday, July 12, 2025 around 4:30 AM, witnesses called 911 to report the crime. The Kwik Trip that was robbed is located at 900 Washington Ave in the City of Cloquet.

Two male suspects entered the store, brandished a firearm, and stole an undisclosed amount of cash from the register. The suspects then fled the store, heading North on foot. No one was injured during the incident.

One suspect is described as a thin male, approximately six feet tall. He is wearing a dark colored hooded top, dark pants, white tennis shoes, a facemask and light colored gloves. The other suspect is described as a thin male, and approximately six feet tall. This suspect wore a dark hooded top, dark pants, black tennis shoes, a face mask, dark colored gloves. He also had a brown bag.

A perimeter was set up around the business, and a police K-9 was deployed in the search for the suspects. After approximately an hour, the track ended inconclusively. It is possible the suspects left the area in a vehicle after initially leaving the store on foot.

Detectives and officers are continuing to follow up on potential leads in the investigation. If you have outdoor security cameras that may have captured footage of these individuals or vehicles in area don’t hesisitate to contact local authorities. Please review your cameras for vehicles or foot traffic in the area. Specifically, North of Washington Ave, between HWY 33 and 14th Street. During the hours of 4:00 AM and 5:00AM on Saturday July 12, 2025.

The Cloquet Police Department had assistance from the Minnesota State Patrol, Fond du Lac Police Department and Carlton County Sheriff’s Department in the investigation.
