SDPD – NBC 7 San Diego

San Diego police say they’ve identified two suspects responsible for at least 11 commercial burglaries across the county between April and June of this year.

The same people are also responsible for burglaries in Sorrento Valley, Rancho Bernardo, Mira Mesa, City Heights, Poway and Santee, according to investigators. The businesses affected include restaurants, offices and retail shops, police said.

Police arrested one suspect, 42-year-old Christopher Buck, on Thursday. The other suspect’s name has not released, but what is known is that person was taken to the hospital for a medical condition.

The owner of Pazzo’s Pizza, said that while the burglary wasn’t a major blow to his business, it’s not the first time this has happened. NBC 7’s Adonis Albright has the story.

One of the businesses is Pazzo’s Pizza in Scripps Ranch. Two people broke into the restaurant in June. They didn’t get any cash, but they did take the food-delivery tablets, so the restaurant couldn’t make deliveries for about a week.

Pazzo’s has been a staple in the neighborhood for more than 30 years. David Vitale, the owner of Pazzo’s Pizza along Scripps Trail, said while the burglary wasn’t a major blow to his business, it’s not the first time this has happened.

In 2015, NBC 7 reported on a string of burglaries that took place between 2013 through July of 2015. Then, the manager said the restaurant was burglarized a total of 9 times in two years. Those burglaries were also caught on surveillance video. The burglars were ultimately arrested and later convicted.

“They didn’t get any cash, it was actually a stupid burglary,” Vitale told NBC 7 in June. “We’re still open, we’re still operating, and blessed for that,” he added.

Law enforcement is urging anyone with information about the burglaries to contact police. Tips can be called in anonymously to Crime Stoppers at (888) 580-8477.
