Armed robbery suspects accused in homicide investigation

WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Ill. (KFVS) – Two men accused of armed robbery are now facing charges in connection with a homicide investigation in Williamson County.

According to the sheriff’s office, Anthony R. Henderson and Wyatt P. Holland are charged in connection with the death of a man found dead inside an abandoned home on the 8000 block of Chittyville Road on June 30.

The sheriff’s office said Henderson and Holland are both charged with murder, and they were taken into custody on Thursday, July 3, on armed robbery charges in a separate, unrelated case.

Both men are set to be in court at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, July 8.

The sheriff’s office identified the homicide victim as Richard Frank John Hernandez and that he had been shot multiple times.

Detectives report that their investigation uncovered additional criminal activity, including armed robbery and unlawful restraint.

The sheriff’s office said one of the suspects confessed to details of the murder, which was supported by witness statements and evidence.
