Calhoun County Worker Killed in Industrial Accident at FabArc Steel Supply

CALHOUN COUNTY, AL — A tragic workplace accident at FabArc Steel Supply claimed the life of a local employee on Thursday, July 3.

According to Calhoun County Sheriff Falon Hurst, 49-year-old Aaron Brown of Ohatchee was moving a steel beam when it shifted and pinned him, crushing his chest. Emergency responders transported Brown to UAB St. Clair Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

Calhoun County Coroner Patrick Brown confirmed the cause of death was injuries sustained in the industrial accident.

The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office is assisting the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) in an ongoing investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
