Pedestrian hit by vehicle, killed in west Phoenix


PHOENIX (AZFamily) — A man has died after he was hit by a vehicle overnight in west Phoenix.

Police responded to the reported crash around 1 a.m. near 35th Avenue and Buckeye Road. Officers at the scene found a man with critical injuries.

Firefighters attempted life-saving measures, but the man was unfortunately pronounced dead at the scene, according to Phoenix Police.

Through an investigation, detectives found that the man was crossing the road outside of any marked crosswalk when he was hit.

The vehicle that was involved stayed at the scene, and the driver spoke with police. Driver impairment is not suspected in this crash.
