A 17-year-old girl was killed Saturday night in a three-car crash in Fairhaven, the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office said Sunday.
Fairhaven police responded to the crash at the intersection of Route 6 and Jeannette Street around 9:20 p.m., the district attorney’s office said. At the scene, they found a Nissan Sentra on the eastbound side of the road facing west with “catastrophic” front-end damage.
The driver, a 17-year-old Fairhaven girl, was the only person in the car at the time of the crash, the district attorney’s office said. She was declared dead at the scene.
A second vehicle — a Ford F-250 — was found lying on its side on the westbound side of the road with heavy front-end damage, the district attorney’s office said. A man and woman in their 20s who were in the truck at the time of the crash were taken to a hospital with minor injuries.
A third vehicle involved in the crash — a Dodge Ram 1500 — had minor front-end damage, but the two people inside it were not injured, the district attorney’s office said.
Authorities are still investigating the crash, the district attorney’s office said. No further information, including the 17-year-old’s identity, has been released.
