Drunkenness: Smith & Brookpark roads
An intoxicated Cleveland man, 36, was arrested at about 10 p.m. June 19 because he was walking in the middle of Smith near Brookpark Road.
Police on patrol saw the man. He was wearing all black and walking northbound. He was unsteady on his feet and swayed back and forth.
The man stopped and looked down. It appeared that he was looking for something on the ground. When he noticed police, he scooted onto the sidewalk.
Police stopped and talked to the man, who smelled like alcohol. His speech was slurred and he swayed while standing. He admitted that he had been drinking alcohol all day.
Police learned the man was wanted in Parma for disorderly conduct. They placed him handcuffs but Parma police said they wouldn’t pick him up.
Brook Park police took the man to North Royalton jail. He was given a misdemeanor summons for disorderly conduct.
Failure to disclose personal information, obstructing official business: Brookpark Road
An Akron woman, 34, was arrested at about 4 p.m. June 23 after she refused to show police her driver’s license or any other form of identification during a traffic stop.
Police had pulled over the woman’s Honda Civic outside The Dispensary at Brook Park, 15200 Brookpark, because she was traveling 57 mph in a 35-mph zone. Also, the Civic’s registration sticker had expired three days earlier.
The woman argued with police, demanding that they show her radar evidence that she had been speeding. She refused to provide her driver’s license and demanded to talk to the police supervisor.
The woman rolled up her car window and refused to speak further with police. Police warned her they would forcibly remove her from the car if she continued to be uncooperative. She told them she would call 911.
As police were about to force their way into the Civic, the woman opened her car door. However, the woman would not step out of the car so police dragged her out. They placed her in handcuffs.
Grand theft: Bowfin Boulevard
A Bowfin resident reported June 23 that someone gained access to her bank account and stole $25,000.
Someone began withdrawing money from the resident’s account in January. The last withdrawal was on June 20.
Operating a vehicle under the influence: Snow Road
A Georgia woman, 20, was arrested at about 4 a.m. June 22 for driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs outside Giant Eagle, 14650 Snow.
Someone called police after seeing the woman slumped over the steering wheel of a Ford Escape parked near the Giant Eagle entrance.
When police arrived the woman was still passed out. After they called out to her several times and touched the top of her head, she slowly woke up.
The engine of the woman’s sport-utility vehicle was still running. The woman began to shift the SUV into drive but police grabbed her arm and stopped her.
Police smelled alcohol and marijuana in the SUV. They moved the woman out of the vehicle.
The woman told police that her sisters had left her in front of Giant Eagle. When police asked her where her sisters were, she said, “In a restricted order.”
The woman admitted drinking three whisky shots. She denied taking drugs. When police asked the woman from where she had come, she said, “Construction Ohio.”
The woman failed field sobriety tests.
Found property: Snow Road
A woman called police at about 4:30 p.m. June 21 after she found a pistol magazine, four bullets and eight bullet casings in a reusable shopping bag at Giant Eagle, 14650 Snow.
