Authorities are investigating a fatal car crash that shut down part of a major highway on the Fourth of July.
State troopers closed the ramps from I-495 to Route 28 (Exit 8) just after 9 a.m. Friday, July 4 because of the deadly crash, Massachusetts State Police told MassLive.
MassDOT said on X that a crash had shut down that portion of the highway at around 9:42 a.m. The interstate was said to have been completely reopened as of 12:50 p.m.
No further details about the crash were immediately available. The investigation is ongoing.
