NEWBURGH – A second shooting occurred on the night of Tuesday, July 1 in the City of Newburgh.
One man sustained gunshot wounds at around 6:15 p.m. and got to the hospital on his own power. His wounds were not life-threatening, authorities said.
Another man also made it to the hospital after shots were fired in the area of 162 South Street at around 10:47 p.m., authorities said on Thursday.
That victim also sustained a gunshot wound that did not appear to be life-threatening, police said.
City officials did not say if the two shootings were related.
While authorities provided no further details, a source said several parked cars were struck by bullets and one round went through someone’s window.
The case is being investigated by the Non-Fatal Shooting Task Force, a collaboration of the city’s detective division, the Orange County District Attorney and Sheriff’s Offices and the Hudson Valley Crime Analysis Center.
