Jota was an integral part of Liverpool’s squad, scoring six goals and providing four assists in 26 appearances, as it won the Premier League title last season. The achievement made the club England’s joint-most successful in domestic top-flight league competition alongside Manchester United.
The Premier League title comes in addition to the forward’s FA Cup (2022) and Carabao Cup (2022, 2024) wins with the Reds.
Jota began his career with Portuguese side Pacos de Ferreira before moving to Spanish giant Atlético Madrid in 2016. He had two loan spells away from the Colchoneros, joining FC Porto and Wolverhampton Wanderers respectively, before making a permanent move to Wolves in 2018. The Portuguese attacker then joined Liverpool in 2020.
The 28-year-old Jota also played for Portugal’s national team, lifting the UEFA Nations League trophy on two occasions (2019, 2025).
He married his partner, Rute Cardoso, with whom he has three children, just two weeks ago.
