Police: Woman arrested on assault, weapon charges at No Kings protest in Warrensburg

The Warren County Sheriff’s Office says they arrested Catherine Benincasa, 32, of Manchester, NH Saturday following an argument at a No Kings protest in Warrensburg that escalated to an assault. Officials say around 5:19 p.m. during the protest on Main Street, Benincasa got into an argument with a man who was there in support of President Trump. The argument escalated, and Benincasa struck the man in the head with a piece of wooden molding and also bit him, said the Sheriff’s Office. Benincasa was arrested and charged with second-degree menacing, third-degree assault, and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon. Authorities say she was arraigned in Centralized Arraignment Court, where she was released on her own recognizance. Benincasa is due in Warrensburg Town Court at a later date.
