52-year-old man faces life sentence following Sterling Heights bank robbery


STERLING HEIGHTS, Mich. – Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido’s office announces that a 52-year-old Sterling Heights man was charged with a bank robbery in Sterling Heights.

It is alleged that on July 23, 2025, at approximately 1:28 pm, Armand David Saroli entered a bank located in Sterling Heights and approached a teller, presenting a note allegedly demanding money.

The teller gave Saroli the money he demanded, and then he left the bank before being captured by Sterling Heights police.

The Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office is charging Saroli with:

  • Bank robbery, a felony punishable by up to life or any number of years

The charges are the maximum available under the law based upon the evidence presented on Friday (July 25).

Saroli was arraigned in the 41-A Sterling Heights District Court, where bond was set at $750,000 cash or surety, with no 10% requirement.

Saroli was remanded to jail with the conditions that if bond is posted, he must wear a GPS steel cuff tether, cannot be in possession of a firearm, ammunition, or any other weapons, and shall not have contact with any of the banks.

The probable cause conference for Saroli is scheduled for Aug. 7, 2025, at 1 p.m.

A preliminary exam date will be announced on August 14, 2025, at 9 a.m.
