5 Arrested in Germantown Drug Investigation

Police say five men were arrested following a drug investigation in Germantown last Wednesday.

Police conducted three residential search warrants, which led to the seizure of four guns, distribution quantities of crack cocaine, PCP and MDMA, five vehicles, and about $43,000, according to the Montgomery County Police Department.

Five men were arrested:

  • Alexander Burch, 48, Petersburg VA
  • Michael Marshall, 37, Gaithersburg
  • Kevin Patton, 44, Germantown
  • Anre Russell, 39, Takoma Park
  • Duane Shelton, 46, Germantown

The police department’s 5th District Community Action Team got complaints last fall about suspected drug-dealing in the 19500 block of Gunners Branch Road. The team launched an investigation, and the search warrants were conducted last week.

The five men are charged with multiple offenses related to controlled dangerous substances. Marshall was released on bond. Burch was released on his own recognizance and the other three men are being held without bond.

The investigation remains ongoing.

According to police, the operation was supported by the Maryland Criminal Intelligence Network.
