2 men killed in separate Birmingham shootings identified

Authorities have released the names of two men killed hours apart in unrelated Birmingham shootings.

The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office on Friday identified the victims as Cameron Demijah Little, 23, and Corey Lavel Tremble, 38. Both men lived in Birmingham.

Little was one of two people shot late Wednesday in East Lake Park. The other victim survived.

East Precinct officers were dispatched to the park in the 100 block of 84th North just after 11:30 p.m. The city’s gunfire detection system, Shot Spotter, had alerted them to about 10 rounds fired.

Police arrived to find Little unresponsive in the park. Birmingham Fire and Rescue Service pronounced him dead at 12:01 a.m.

Officer De’Rell Freeman said the preliminary investigation indicates a group of people, both men and women, met up in the park. Unknown circumstances led to shots being fired.
