
SEATTLE – Seattle police are investigating after a person was shot and killed in the University District Thursday night.
What we know:
Officers responded to reports of shots fired around 7:37 p.m. along the University of Washington’s Greek Row, at 17th Avenue Northeast and Northeast 47th Street.
Seattle PD said the suspect pulled up to the scene in a vehicle and fired at the victim in front of multiple witnesses.
Officers attempted life-saving measures, but the victim died at the scene.
Seattle Police Chief Shon Barnes said police are looking for a white Hyundai Elantra with black wheels, possibly with a busted out front passenger side window. If seen, please call 911.
The UW Alert described the suspect as a man in a black hoodie.
SPD said it appeared to be a targeted attack, but the motive is currently unclear. No one else was reportedly injured in the shooting.
