BUTLER COUNTY, Mo. (KFVS) – A two-vehicle crash Tuesday afternoon left one dead and others seriously injured.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, it happened on Business 60 at Route NN sometime before 3:30 p.m. on July 1.
The MSHP crash report says a 17-year-old was driving a pickup truck northbound and failed to yield to an SUV heading westbound.
The SUV hit the pickup truck’s side and went off the right side of the road. The pickup truck overturned and hit a stop sign.
The coroner confirmed a 71-year-old woman from Caseyville, Illinois died in the collision. She was a passenger in the SUV.
Three other women in the vehicle were seriously injured and had to be airlifted to an out-of-state hospital.
MSHP reported none of them were wearing seat belts.
A 17-year-old passenger in the pickup truck also had minor injuries and was taken to a local hospital.
