1 dead and another hurt in vehicle crash in Forest County


TOWN OF HILES, Wis. (WSAW) – One person is dead and another is hurt after a vehicle crash in Forest County.

The Forest County Sheriff’s Office responded to the crash at 3:50 p.m. on Monday. It happened 15 miles southeast of Eagle River on Hay Meadow Road near 7 Mile Lake Road and Federal Forest Road 2415.

Two people were inside the vehicle at the time. One person was found dead at the scene. The other person received medical treatment and was taken to a hospital for their injuries.

The Sheriff’s Office says the crash is still under investigation and further information may be released at a later date.

The Oneida County Sheriff’s Office, Three Lakes Police Department, Hiles First Responders, Three Lakes Fire Department and Wisconsin State Patrol also assisted.
